Semplice e pura segnalazione ricollegandomi ad un vecchio post (che invito a rileggere) adesso tramite il repository esterno di Debian-multimedia¹ è possibile installare i Liberation Fonts TTF offerti da Red Hat tramite apt o aptitude (a seconda delle vostre preferenze) :
$ sudo apt-get install ttf-liberation
Cosa sono i Liberation TTF Fonts ?
Free fonts with the same metrics as Times, Arial and Courier
A set of serif, sans-serif and monospaced fonts from Red Hat with exactly
the same metrics as the (non-free) Microsoft Times, Arial and Courier
fonts, which implies those fonts can serve as a drop-in replacement. The

Debian-multimedia¹ seguite il collegamento per impostarlo nel vostro sources.list in modo corretto.
